Today a nice thing happened! While eating all alone at the ramen shop near my house, feeling sorry for myself because I have a cold and am tired and irritable, the kind (read: drunk) old man sitting next to me stood up, payed for his meal, then insisted that he pay for mine as well!
I politely asked why, and he said "no no don't worry! your japanese is very good! keep it up!!"
"uh... sure!" i said, and continued eating. He just wandered off.
Free dinner! Thanks, Japan!
